The healing qualities of Aloe Vera were discovered centuries ago and used by various cultures, from Romans to Egyptians. One of the oldest medical documents, a papyrus from around 1550 BC, already referred to the Aloe as a source for medical remedies.
Since then, it has been applied worldwide and used for medicine, cosmetics, health and animal care, among other things.
More than 3,500 studies have been published on the effects of Aloe since 1920. During these studies, over 200 active substances have been identified. Below you can read about some of the active substances in Aloe Vera:
Aloe Vera also helps nourish and improve the overall health and well-being of the skin. The gel is widely used for external skin treatments. Not only does it act as a caregiver, it also has the power to soothe and repair damaged skin. We list some of its many benefits for you:
Yesterday, in the presence of our Governor, Ministers, and Special Guests, we revealed our new logo showcasing a crown and the Royal addition to our name, which is now: Royal Aruba Aloe. Existing for more than 132 years and as the first company (and country) in the Caribbean part of the Dutch Kingdom that has received a Royal designation.
We are incredibly proud of our team in Aruba! Congratulations on this amazing achievement. We are also incredibly grateful for all of our supporters.
]]>The word is out! Over the past few months, we have been working hard on a new project, a facial line. After many brainstorming sessions and rounds of testing, we came up with the best formulas for these products. The line consists of four different face products that reinforce each other.
]]>Puryfing face wash
Cleansing your face is a very important part of your skincare routine. It is important to wash your face both in the morning and at night. Both day and night, sebum, dead skin cells and other dirt accumulate. The moment you don't remove these from the skin, your skin will start to look dull and uneven. In addition, our face wash is also suitable for thoroughly removing make-up from the skin. Our face wash is sulphate-free and pore-purifying. Our face wash is filled with 100% pure and fresh aloe vera gel.
Balancing facial toner
A toner strengthens the skin barrier and maintains a healthy moisture balance in your face. This is because a toner is richly filled with various antioxidants, which are moisturizing ingredients. Our toner hydrates and restores the skin, due to the 100% pure and fresh aloe vera gel with which the product is filled. Our toner reduces sebum build-up and purifies the skin. In addition, the toner soothes and moisturizes the skin.
Advanced day cream
The day cream protects the skin against negative external influences. These include air pollution, UV radiation and temperature fluctuations. In addition, external factors such as stress or an unhealthy lifestyle also play a role. Our day cream is filled with 100% pure and fresh aloe vera gel from Aruba. In addition, it is also filled with extra vitamin E. The cream reduces wrinkles and large pores, it also improves skin elasticity. In addition, it gives the skin a glow.
Vitality night cream
A night cream is generally oilier, than a day cream. This is because it contains extra active ingredients, which repair the damage done during the day. Our night cream is filled with 100% pure and fresh aloe vera from Aruba. It is also filled with extra vitamin E. The cream hydrates, conditions and renews the skin while you sleep. The cream leaves your skin looking fresh and cared for.
The essential skincare routine in 3 steps!
We have prepared a simple routine so that it is clear how to apply these products.
Step 1: Apply a minimal layer of the face wash to dry skin and massage it in. After massaging, add a few drops of water on the skin, massage this in further. Then wash the face wash off the skin with lukewarm water.
Step 2: After washing the face, let it dry. After drying, add the toner on the skin. You do this by applying it on a pad, then sweep it over the skin.
Step 3: After applying the toner, generously add the day or night cream and massage in.
Resulting in healthy, younger-looking skin with a natural glow!

]]>It is the first time since the introduction of the Royal Designation by King William I in 1815 that the designation has been awarded to an organization in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. On April 22, 2021, the Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, handed over the Certificate and the Royal Decree belonging to the predicate to the owners of Aruba Aloe Balm NV.
The Royal Designation is an award that can be awarded to associations, foundations, institutions or large companies. It means that the organization may add the Royal Designation to the name and include the Royal Crown in the logo. It symbolizes the King’s respect, appreciation and trust towards the recipient. The criteria for granting the Royal Designation are the same in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom as in the Netherlands. For example, the organization must be of national significance and exist for 100 years or more.
The official presentation of the Certificate and the Royal Decree took place in the Ballroom of the Hilton Aruba Caribbean. After a speech by the Governor, the Certificate and the Order were unveiled and received by the owners of Aruba Aloe. The Provisions regarding the Royal Designation, which include the obligations associated with the right to use the designation, were subsequently signed by two directors of Aruba Aloe, Remko van der Veldt and Jacobus Veel. Louis A. Posner (shareholder) and Remko van der Veldt have thanked the Governor of Aruba, as representative of the King, for granting the right to use the Royal Designation. In their speech it was also told about the origin of Aruba Aloe.
It is a great honor for Aruba that an Aruban company, the first in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, has been granted the right to use the Royal Designation. The Governor of Aruba congratulates Aruba Aloe Balm NV with this special award.
We are now officially Royal Aruba Aloe!

In the fields surrounding our factory facility in Hato, we do not use any chemical fertilizers, and harvesting is done by hand. We are currently working to install a new drip system in our fields to reduce water usage.
We strive to use plant-based and responsibly sourced ingredients whenever possible, including natural herbal extracts, organic essential oils, and of course, its homegrown aloe vera. In the second half of 2014, we stopped using paraben in all our products, and in December 2014, we proudly launched a sulfate-free haircare collection. Furthermore, our company has never tested its products on animals.
In 2011, we switched to using 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic to package our Aruba Aloe sun, hair, and bodycare products. Half of our gift bags are made from coconut fiber, and our company works with Thai artisans to create eco-friendly, socially responsible gift set boxes. Our shopping bags and packing materials are made from recycled paper.
For our newer retail stores, we worked with local design company Rustica Design to craft furniture from upcycled palette wood and other recycled materials. At our office and stores, we use recycled paper for many of our flyers and business cards.
We continue to look for ways to be more sustainable in our practices. This eagerness to develop and better ourselves is precisely why our company has survived and thrived as a business on the island for the last 125 years.
